Offer Entertainment Law in the Summer of 2018

The U.S. Media & Entertainment market represents a third of the global industry and will reach approximately $771 billion by 2019, up from $632 billion in 2015, according to the 2015 - 2019 Entertainment & Media Outlook by PriceWaterhouseCoopers. This is one market where we are consumers by default. At present, the Berkeley professional track LLM is comprised of a majority of students from countries that the U.S. Department of Commerce (in it's 2016 Top Markets Report- Media and Entertainment by the international trade administration) considers as being the Top Media & Entertainment Export & Licensing Markets. As we take and look forward to various courses at Berkeley Law during this summer and the next, it is my firm belief that Entertainment Law should be offered to the students of the Professional Track during the summer of 2018. I request that the Advanced Degree Programs Office give this matter its highest consideration of thought.
