Chad Zimmerman started this petition to Senator Robert Menendez and

With all the talk of the very important Green New Deal which is inclusive of moving off of fossil fuel to renewable energy, I think it's time that Camden County, NJ takes the small step, as well as the entire state of New Jersey, and follow the lead of other progressive cities and finally "outlaw plastic bags once and for all!"

It's apparent that many retail stores, as well as supermarkets, use way too many plastic bags instead of paper ones that that can easily be recycled.  Even recyclable plastic bags aren't being recycled vis the recycled trash removal services wish is utterly insane.  These bags end up polluting the streets, towns and municipality's of all areas as well as our precious streams, rivers and oceans making it dangerous for both humans and the oceans' inhabitants.  It's the smallest of steps in an effort to get things clean and green and needs to be implemented ASAP.

There is no reason whatsoever to not outlaw these bags let alone all of the other plastics that can be replaced by paper, recyclable cartons and glass.
