Appoint a special prosecutor to investigate the Department of Justice & the FBI
0 have signed. Let’s get to 100!
In light of the events that have transpired over the past year, it is clear there is breakdown in operational responsibility happening at the top levels of the Department of Justice and FBI. I will begin by listing the most recent examples and work backwards:
1). The Parkland Shooting. The FBI was made aware of Nikolas Cruz back in January and failed to act. This failure of the FBI to follow up on the lead they received about Cruz led to the deaths of 17 innocent people and the heartbreak and destruction of a countless number of families.
2). The FBI/DoJ's use of Fusion GPS's opposition research to obtain a FISA warrant to monitor Carter Page. Carter Page was a member of the Trump Campaign. For James Comey, the then director of the FBI & Loretta Lynch the former US Attorney General to knowingly submit political opposition research to monitor the opposing parties presidential candidate is a subversion of our democratic process worthy of criminal prosecution.
3). The FBI's handling of Hillary Clinton's server investigation. As a veteran this is the most frustrating for me because I understand the importance and responsibility associated possessing a security clearance. Hillary Clinton, be it intentionally or by accident, is guilty of violating the espionage act and there is no gray area here. The DoJ & FBI obstructed justice in an effort to assist the Democrat Parties Presidential Candidate, Hillary Clinton, and were not willing to pursue a serious criminal investigation i.e., Loretta Lynch's secret meeting with Bill Clinton on the tarmac, Comey drafting an exoneration letter months in advance of even interviewing Hillary Clinton. The evidence to support the DoJ & FBI’s obstruction regarding the server investigation is overwhelming and in abundance; their malfeasance in the handling of this investigation can not, must not, be tolerated.
This list is by no means comprehensive and because they are incapable of investigating themselves, it is necessary for the DoJ to appoint a non-partisan office of special counsel to investigate both the FBI & DoJ. The longer we delay in appointing a serious special prosecutor the more we put our country at risk.
