University of Chicago Take a Stronger Stand Against Muslim Ban

Letter to Robert J. Zimmer, President of the University of Chicago:
As a proud UChicago Alumni, I urge you and the leaders at The University of Chicago to take a much stronger stand against this ban on immigrants and refugees, including following the lead of the University of Michigan. We applaud your efforts to add to the voices of reason. But at this time, the absence of a strong and clear stand is tantamount to no stand at all.
Please follow with action steps and a pledge not to release immigration status of UofC students. Our academic community thrives on an open dialogue with our international fellowship and we are diminished by closing our doors in the faces of scholars and researchers who strive to collaborate with us.
We can not be measured in our voice, nor our action. We must be direct and forceful in our response. There are no gray areas in our need for equality and compassion.
