Why this petition matters

Started by Michelle Walker

Every year on our east coast sewage is being allowed to pollute our sea and beach’s. Bacteria found in human, bird, dog faeces and industrial contamination have been found in test samples that have been taken during heavy rain fall. Beach users in the meantime are unaware of the amount of contaminated water they are walking, surfing and swim in. We want our beaches to be safe and clean for all users and wildlife. In this day and age we are should try to be looking into more ways to protect our seas and oceans. This year alone more wildlife have been recorded visiting are coastal areas and we wish to continue to promote this. The more marine wildlife the more people will come to view and visit these beautiful creatures. We are also being asked by the Scarborough council how to bring more people to the Scarborough area and this would be a start. We are also being asked to exercise and be more mindful which in turn helps the NHS, especially at times right now when leisure facilities and gyms are closed. How nice would it be to be able to have the beaches full of holiday makers and local people who feel safe to use the sea and beaches, these which are all free to use in this Economical climate. We are please asking for more steps to be taken to combat and ensure the amount of contaminated water being allowed to be spilled into the east coast seas be looked into and dealt with for all our sakes.
Please sign this petition and help us all who use these precious beaches and seas. Thank you.
