For the first time in over 35 years, Huguenot High School's Varsity Boys Basketball Head Coach position is open. Undoubtedly, there will be very good, qualified candidates who will apply, giving the school principal and athletic director a tough decision to make. As a former Huguenot basketball alum('01), a former Huguenot basketball assistant coach(2015-2016) and patron of Huguenot Athletics, in my opinion, Bo Jones Jr is the right candidate to take Huguenot's boys basketball program to the next level. He brings a longtime connection to Huguenot basketball. He was around it as a kid as his father was the coach. He was a basketball standout at Huguenot, recently being inducted into the Richmond Public Schools Sports Hall of Fame, the youngest inductee in that class. He starred at VCU, earning a spot as one of the top players in the CAA conference his senior year. He recently wrapped up his 10th year as Huguenot's Girls Basketball Head Coach, developing in that span many, well-accomplished student-athletes, some of whom have gone on to have stellar college careers. He has also given of his time to assist players on the boys teams, whether giving individual training, assisting practices, transporting players or even in some cases, making sure a player has something to eat. In his spare time, he has invested in educating himself at numerous coaching clinics to better his craft. I want nothing but the best for Huguenot's basketball program. I know no better person for this job than Huguenot's own, Bo Jones Jr. Please join me in your support.
