fair pay for low paid workers at citywide

Melbourne's garbos and parks and garden workers employed by Melbourne City Council's private company Citywide, do hard dirty physical work in all types of weather.
They are low paid- the average Australian wage is $79k, these workers are paid as low as $41k. They haven't had a pay rise in two years and many of them are owed thousands in back pay.
The boss of this Council owned company drives a Maserati and gets paid $500k and now wants to cut the sick pay entitlements of his lowest paid workers by 33%.
These workers deserve a fair pay offer, they don't deserve to starve if they get sick.
The Melbourne City Council needs to be held accountable for the monsters they have created. With many business leaders now identifying growing income inequality as a threat to societal cohesion we call on Lord Mayor Robert Doyle to ensure that the companies owned by Melbourne City Council are also business leaders rather than bottom feeders
