Remove #RobbieWilliams As Ambassador

David Bull Executive Director,

We, the undersigned, call on you to remove Robbie Williams from his ambassador role, and to remove Tim Clark from his Vice President role.

Your Ambassador Robbie Williams, by playing Tel Aviv, a concert organised by Tim Clark, has chosen to publicly endorse Israel, a state which undeniably and systematically mistreats children, as documented extensively, including by your own research :

[1] Children in Israeli Military Detention I
[2] Children in Israeli Military Detention II
[3] No safe place for children in Gaza
By playing Hayarkon Park (a venue built on the ruins of the village of Jarisha, de-populated during the 1948 Nakba); furthermore by lending his celebrity to whitewash Israel's international image, via the Visit Israel Tourist Information Facebook page; Robbie Williams has made himself the poster boy for criminality against children in the eyes of the vast and growing number of people of conscience, who make up the international Palestinian Solidarity movement.

Tim Clark, the head of the company that arranged the Robbie Williams Tel Aviv concert and the associated Visit Israel tourist promotion, is a man who has obviously been paid a great deal of money as a result of his business connection with Israel. His role as a Vice President of UNICEF UK is, like that of Robbie Williams, now untenable.

Do you remember the many hundreds of thousands of UK citizens, who spontaneously took to the streets of Britain throughout the summer of 2014, alongside literally millions of their counterparts worldwide, having witnessed the explosion of reckless violence that was inflicted upon the civilian population of Gaza?

They are people who now watch in despair as the UK government fails to even acknowledge that recent catastrophe of state criminality perpetrated by the Israeli regime, let alone act to hold its leaders responsible for their crimes.

They are people who care deeply about protecting Palestinian children from further violence.

They are surely the very people who most passionately share UNICEF's vitally important mission to protect children in danger everywhere.

Know this: In the eyes of many of those people of conscience, people who you should count as your most emphatic supporters, UNICEF is now utterly compromised by its continued association with both Robbie Williams and his manager Tim Clark.

They both must step down now.
