Help stop the tear down of Fernwoods Community Garden before it's too late!

A beautiful 4-year-old Fernwood community garden is being ripped up and replaced with GRASS! This area used to be a popular spot for drug abuse and violence, but since the garden, it has provided a safe and active learning environment for local families and school children. The Victoria school board ( school district 61) at Victoria high school has very recently learned that the land, a small 400-500 sq ft garden resides in part of their property. Upon this discovery, they have made a rash decision to destroy and tear up this fruitful community garden with no further plans for this area other than to replace it with grass. We are trying to find a way to plead our case to the school board to help them see how this is to better educate our children and to strengthen the bond of our community. The garden is called Baby Arlo's Garden also known as Rainbow Bench Park at 1800 chambers st.
