LET LIAM PLAY

Our goal is to get the Wetaskiwin Composite High School Athletic Director to release Liam so that he may play football.
Liam played his first season of high school football last year. Liam had a bad experience and his parents elected to move him out of what they believed was a bad environment. Liam was registered as a full time student in a new school however the Athletic Director will not release Liam to play football at his new school. The Athletic Director at Wetaskiwin says Liam’s only choice is to play football for Wetaskiwin or not at all.
We believe this is wrong and does not serve the best interest of Liam academically or athletically. The Alberta Schools Athletic Association Handbook makes provision for exemption to policy however he refuses to invoke it. Liam’s only choice should not be to return to a negative environment or never play school sports again.
We need your support to address this issue so that Liam can attend the school of his choice and participate in the whole school experience, including athletics.
We the undersigned, call upon the WCHS Athletic Director to consider a child’s wellbeing as more important than policy and recognize that upholding a policy that does not serve the best interest of children is in fact detrimental to their future and we want you to release Liam and let him play.
