Grade seperation of Oak RD and the Princes Highway Kirrawee

For years, Oak Road Intersection on the Princes Highway-Kirrawee has plagued many Shire and Illawarra residents who rely on the Princes Highway every day for work, schooling and leisure. With construction of the Brick Pit Development underway in Kirrawee, traffic at this intersection is sure to increase. Although the developers have announced that there are ‘traffic improvements’ coming to resolve this intersection and the surrounding roads, the increased traffic will still have a detrimental impact in this area.
There are currently no government strategies in place to improve this intersection, which I believe should be of critical priority.
I believe it to be clear that these ‘improvements’ will be unsubstantial for future peak traffic conditions at this intersection. With the F6 extension still several years away, the Princes Highway needs upgrading at this key intersection in order to make it a more reliable route for residents to move to and from work and school without increasing time spent on the road.
If you also have been frustrated by current conditions along this road, and would like to see proactive solutions devised and implemented for the benefit of the Sutherland Shire and your own time for a lifestyle other than traffic, then please consider signing this petition.
