Why this petition matters

Started by aida

The Coronavirus pandemic has taken all by surprise this semester and we fully understand the university is trying to respond to this challenging situation as better as the circumstances allow them to. However, the level of education is being compromised by the decision to move the classes on line from 18th of March. Studio-base courses will be the most affected, specially the ones that are currently doing major project as interaction is necessary for a complete feedback.

RMIT must make sure we are provided with all the necessary tools to work on our projects, even if the campus remains open, we should not have to decide between our health or the education, which means we can not access to the facilities of university that are essential part of the design process, computer softwares, printers, library, labs, etc. Which we find completely unfair considering an important percentage of students are international and do not have any other place to work on that university.

We kindly ask RMIT to reconsider their decision, we would like the education to be the priority and postpone the continuation of the studies to assure the access to all the facilities students need and are paying for.
