As the 2021 Spring semester at Riverwood International Charter has just began, there are a lot of changes to the grading policies which will affect a lot of students. One of the most prominent changes of said policies is that the grade book will now count Formative assignments as up to 40% of our final grade. This is a major change as the usual policy for Formative assignments was that they wouldn’t contribute to the final grade at all and served as a way to brace yourself for the Summative assignments(which used to count for 80%) Even these assignments have changed value as well. I would like to try to get the school board to rethink these decisions to better the learning experience for all students attending Riverwood International.
