Covid -19 has and continues to impact all of us incredibly. From loss of loved ones to loss of income, we have all suffered. The coronavirus pandemic is very real. However, the forcing of a vaccine on unwilling citizens is infringing on our basic human rights. The right to choose. The fact that vaccinated people can still catch and spread the virus is what makes me uneasy. I propose that mandate change to require a recent negative covid test rather than a vaccination card to attend schools, restaurants, bars, etc. If the goal is to prevent the spread/infection of Covid-19, and the variants, a recent negative test is far more effective in public spaces. Leaving the vaccine available to those who choose to take it, is preferable. However, to force it upon individuals who may have already recovered from Covid-19 and developed natural antibodies to the virus, or do not wish to take the vaccine for religious reasons, under the threat of loss of job or schooling, betrays actual freedom of choice in favor of the illusion. By signing this petition, we call on our local and federal governments to push proof of negative testing over proof of vaccination.
