Stop the 10% transport levy in Western Australia (raising funds for taxi compensation)
0 have signed. Let’s get to 100!
The state government of Western Australia is proposing to introduce a 10% levy on all fares/trips in the taxi, on demand/rideshare/ridehail & charter vehicle industry. This levy is to compensate taxi owners.
This levy is unaffordable for drivers and the cost will have to be passed directly onto customers.
NSW and Victorian governments are limiting the levy to $1 per trip.
$1 per trip is a much more affordable proposition for Western Australia.
If you don’t want to see your trip from the suburbs to the city, the casino, to Fremantle or the airport increase by 10%; tell the government to stop by signing this petition.
Your travel for business or leisure should not cost 10% more! ( Drivers also can’t afford to pay a 10% levy when they already pay 10% GST, Fuel, Rego & Insurance, Car Loans, Vehicle Maintenance, Tyres, Income Tax and then pay the rent/homeloan and put food on the table and all the other bills in life)
