Taryn Desmond started this petition to Rise for Animals

Animal experimentation is a cruel thing going on in the United States, and all around the world. As eighth graders, we believe that something needs to be done to stop this method of research, as we have higher technology and resources nowadays. Over the last few weeks we have learned that animal testing has many downsides, and it is unfair to animals. Testing cosmetics and vaccines can be done in alternative ways, such as on donated human skin cells. It was also figured out that the testing done on animals was less accurate than the research conducted on human skin. As you continue to read this, thousands of animals are sitting in labs, suffering, breathing their last breaths. Animals such as rabbits, guinea pigs, dogs, cats, etc. are abused physically and mentally every single day. It is unfair that we, as humans, torture a whole different species so that we can strive. If a few eighth grade students can understand the cruelty, so can you. Starting small and abolishing animal testing in New England will help us reach this goal all throughout our country, and hopefully throughout the world too. So, by signing this petition, you will help us reach our goals, and make the change we all want to see!

Another way to help us abolish animal testing would be to donate to this GoFundMe! All of the donations received will be sent directly to the Rise For Animals Foundation. This nonprofit organization is striving to abolish animal testing and find accurate alternatives. We would deeply appreciate your donations to our GoFundMe, and if you aren’t able to donate, please share! Signing this petition and donating to our GoFundMe will assist us in reaching our goals.
