Child marriages are a humiliation of child's right. Why not ban it? Why is it still legal?

Why this petition matters

I live in a small town and as I've grown up, I have seen so many families forcefully marring there child... Especially girls..According to 2001 census there are 1.5 millions of girls in India under the age of 15 years already married.  They see a girl child as a burden on them. They don't give a damn about a girl's education and plus they don't even think that a girl can dream or either can achieve something!

From her childhood to her hitting puberty to adulthood, they only teach her about how she can raise a child or cook a meal for her husband who might be 15-20years older than him.

Most of it I've seen in rural areas.

The Prohibition of Child Marriage Act 2006 came into force on 1 November 2007 in India. Child marriage are voidable as per the consent of minor only, but what if they don't let the minor even speak about him/herself . What if they torture or humiliate them for not remaining silent.

I agree, they might can change the decision of not getting married but only a few not all!!

Isn't it our responsibility to provide education to every citizen of our country??

What if they want to get education, they want to study but they can't just because this child marriage is voidable but legal!!
