Diana Lozowski started this petition to RIDOH and

Residents in RI long term care facilities have been on lockdown for almost one year now. No family visits, no oversight, no advocacy. The only organization allowed in is the RI Department of Health. Studies show that isolation, especially  elderly and individuals with cognitive deficits have an enormous negative impact. Isolation causes and exacerbates depression, and Alzheimer's disease, and greatly affects quality of life.
With your help, I can fight for a change in policy.
We need eyes and ears in these facilities to ensure dignified care is being applied, especially to patients who cannot speak for themselves, as well as individuals with no family. If employees can don PPE and stay safe, so can a family member as well as advocates. Allowing family members to go in and visit, will also decrease the workload of overworked, exhausted, healthcare professionals.
Why isn't a family member allowed to go in and wash their Mom's face, brush their teeth, sit them up, read, and pray, and more importantly, provide positive moral support.

Please, help me make this change by signing, power in numbers, every signature counts.
