Why this petition matters

Started by APS Students

As the 2020-21 school year goes on, many students find it difficult to adjust to the new schedule. It is very fast paced, and many students are not able to learn the content. As a result, students are falling behind and their grades do not represent who they are. Therefore, the grading scale and schedules needs to be changed, at least for semester two.

Currently, two classes are supposed to teach 1 semester worth of material in 20 school days and they won't get that class again until semester 2 begins with the same session of the 20 day format.

Cramming information has been scientifically proven that, in the long run, is not beneficial. Also, with IB, AP, and CCA classes, it will be difficult to demonstrate what they've learned when they've only had 40 days total of each class. It's unfair to students.
