STOP TOWING FRAUD

Are you tired of towing companies taking advantage of you? In the last few months, my peers and I have run into multiple issues with a certain towing company. Towing companies in college communities tend to take advantage of college students. They have continuously ruined a lot of peoples pockets. Sometimes justified, other times, not so much. Towing companies have a tendency to break laws when there is no way to prove that their word is false when it comes to us versus them. For the simple reason, those towing companies can easily lie about the time they tow a vehicle and the time that it arrived at the yard. That time alone takes 4-8 minutes on average, therefore, tickets that are covering the time that they are getting towed for is expired by the time the vehicle arrives at the yard. So when you go look for your vehicle and it is gone before the expiration of your ticket, but you arrive at the yard after the expired time, it is now your word against theirs. This is just one example how these companies can screw you over.
SOLUTION: Camera requirement at towing facility by yard entrance. This will prohibit towing fraud at some level by companies not being able to lie about the arrival time of the vehicle. To prohibit fully, each towing vehicle should require a camera. This can be funded by unjustifiably towed college student vehicles.
It's time to share our bad experiences with towing companies publicly, to prove that college students are not voiceless, and to prove that we can make changes in our city.
