Ban Plastic Bags near the FL coast

Plastic bags are a huge problem for our marine life. And, I honestly didn't know it was as bad as it is until I decided I needed to know a few statistics for this petition.  So brace yourself. According to conservativeturtles.org an estimated 100 BILLION marine animals die every year because of plastic. It is estimated that there is 100 BILLION TONS of plastic in the ocean. 80% of which comes from the land.

But there is something we can do. We can stop a huge amount of plastic waste by banning the use of plastic bags from grocery stores in Florida. At the very least, near the coast where it's more likely our trash will make it to the water. In places like southern California this is already the law. Everyone uses reusable shopping bags or you can purchase a paper bag.

Let's tell our law makers that we love our marine life and ocean enough to ban the use of plastic bags in Florida. It's a small thing we can do for our planet to make a HUGE difference.
