Open Letter

Distinguished Senators of the State of Florida Rick Scott and Marco Rubio: We would like to inform you that on September 27, 2020, the Republic of Azerbaijan launched a large-scale aggression along the entire line of contact between the sovereign Nagorno-Karabakh Republic, from Omar to Araks.

This unprecedented recent military confrontation by Azerbaijan unequivocally confirms its militant aspirations towards the Armenian population of the world of Artsakh, a peace-loving, hard-working freedom-loving and just historical Armenia. The escalating war is becoming even more dangerous for the whole region, when belligerent Turkey confirms its support and role in that war (hidden but openly known). A bloodthirsty country, whose historical past is written in the blood of many nations. Today, barbaric Turkey is openly participating in the conflict helping Azaerbaijan against Armenia.

Fighter planes (F-16), not counting drones, the Turkish military elite superiors replenishing the Azerbaijani army with mercenaries from Syria. With each passing day, the ongoing war is becoming more and more rampant. The settlements of Stepanakert, the capital of the Nagorno Karabakh Republic, Martuni, Martakert and Hadrut regions are being bombed by fighter jets, machine guns of different calibers and weapons.

The bombing borders cover a large scale. The Vardenis region of the Republic of Armenia was bombed. There are hundreds of wounded and victims among the civilians, mostly the elderly, children and women.

The peace-loving countries of the world have raised their voices in protest to put an end to this monstrous aggression, to put the agenda of peace and mutual reconciliation on the negotiating table right away.

We, the Armenians of Florida, demand that the Senate raise the crucial issue of supporting the peaceful, liberating aspirations of the long-suffering people.

We are full of hope that your voice will be heard.
