Get safer houses in Florida.

9.7 million people have had to evacuate Florida and over 40 deaths have occured in the wake of Irma alone. These numbers should be unheard of. We are collectivly spending trillions of dollars on housing finance and billions in insurance costs to cover them.
People will still be losing their houses and quite possibly their lives and liveliyhoods. No building in Florida should be unsustainable in any storm. We have found ways to make that happen and save the risk of our line workers in the process.
In Florida, our construction practices have been sorely lacking in the areas of safety and survivability. This petition should be made clear to our legislators that we need to be able to build with all available resources to achieve housing constructed to the point of being able to withstand an EF5 tornado and a Cat 5 hurricane.
We need to be able to construct Earthships as a main modality of housing. They survive EF5 tornados and CAT5 hurricanes. The are energy efficient and save our water supply burdens.
Signing this petition will also tell them that you want them to have a joint meeting with me, James Janota to give them a breakdown of the advantages this line of thinking will have. Not only with our state but others that have had similar issues with storms, be able to have housing that withstands the test of time.
