Back in 2016, Hurricane Matthew caused a state of emergency and sparked evacuations throughout Florida. Near the day of landfall was Florida’s Voter Registration Deadline. After a Federal court overturned the governors decision, the Voter Registration Deadline in Florida was extended by 6 days to allow Floridians time to evacuate or prepare for the deadly storm.

Floridians find themselves in the same position today with Hurricane Michael. Govenor Scott, Floridians should focus on ensuring the safety of their familiy in the shadow of this deadly approaching storm- extend the deadline as we did in 2016.
