Generator requirement for Senior Housing in South Florida!
0 have signed. Let’s get to 200!
In times of natural disaster, many people who are elderly are at a higher risk of death. Not only because of the environmental changes (which we cannot control) but also because Assistant Living Facilities and Senior Housings in South Florida are not required to have a generator (in case of emergencies) at time of inspection. Having a generator is as equally important as a fire extinguisher in case of a fire. In South Florida, owners for such facilities should require to have on hand a working generator powerful enough to maintain the central AC unit.
Just this past week, 8 elderly people died in a Hollywood, FL living facility that was considered a "death trap". That does not include the hundreds that are currently hospitalized in Miami-Dade & Broward County due to dehydration and fatigue.
Florida's warm temperatures are only increasing. And people who are responsible for others well being should be prepared in case of any emergencies.
Please help by signing this petition to fight for those who can no longer fight for themselves!
