The lyrics / persona of Rick Ross in his song "U.O.E.N.O" promote gross sexual assault and rape of young women and girls by way of drugging them and raping them by force while they're too under the influence to know what's going on, let alone to find recourse to stop it.

Ross states, "Put molly all in her champagne, she ain’t even know it. I took her home and I enjoyed that, she ain’t even know it." It's clear by "enjoyed that" Ross insinuates the act of rape by way of drugging her. This reference is pristine clear and undeniable. We know that molly is a date rape drug and we know sexual intercourse by force - by federal and state statues - is defined as rape. We're aware that the largest bracket of consumers of industry music are girls aged 12-14 - alongside their male counterparts. By presenting rape as glamorous, Ross is putting untold hundreds of thousands if not millions of children within the US at risk of being drugged and raped this year. Thus, it is urgent that we remove "U.O.E.N.O" from the *entire* akashic records of our *time*.

Rick Ross, Record Label Owners and Executives,

We as a united family of youth and elders proclaim that we will no longer stand on the sideline as your incompetent employers encourage you to continue in your unethical "art" or behavior. We demand that every last session file, audio file, video file and any remnant of U.O.E.N.O. is returned to the essence, to discontinue it's promotion of the culture of rape. We hold Rick Ross, his employers / record label owners accountable for these words and for their real life effects.

Perhaps what is most disturbing is the utter lack of awareness or responsibility. In the interview popularly circulating online, Ross denies that his statement (putting drugs in a ladies drink and forcibly having sex with her while she is unconscious) is indicative of rape. We're under the impression that Rick Ross is unaware that forcible sex is an act of rape and led to believe that he takes no issue with performing the act of rape or promoting the act to a young national audience.

Our station is sensitive to the quality of life of our listeners across generations; as our own children, youth, women, men and elders. We believe in family values and exude the importance of love and protection. We are a non profit, black owned station that's unwilling to compromise the best service and radio programming that we can provide. We demand a formal letter of apology and a meeting with your record executives and with you. We would like the opportunity to educate you regarding the crisis of rape or gross sexual assault that plagues over one billion women or girls annually. Rape and human trafficking exist at alarming rates in the United States where industry music is the soundtrack to the culture of rape. We hold you accountable. This is a turning point to which we will never turn back.

Sincerely Yours,

Earth Saylove, Co-Executive Director, WJZP Jazz Portland 105.1 FM Portland, ME
