With the FDA approval of Corona-19 vaccines for children over the age of 5, it’s time to apply the lessons learned from adult vaccinations to the current situation.  Even if there is a strong sense of urgency about getting the vaccine, it’s clear that people are most likely to get the vaccine when it is convenient for them to do so.
Not every pharmacy in Richland offers the children’s vaccine.  Some families do not have adequate online access to learn where to go and might not have the means to get there even if they do get an appointment. 
We urge the Richland School Board to work with the Health Department and pharmacies to arrange for pop-up vaccination sites at schools during the week and on weekends.
