Even though they make up half the population, women and girls have endured discrimination in most societies for thousands of years. In the past, women were treated as property of their husbands or fathers - they couldn't own land, they couldn't vote or go to school, and were subject to beatings and abuse and could do nothing about it. Over the last hundred years, much progress has been made to gain equal rights for women around the world, but many still live without the rights to which all people are entitled.

I gave up my career to raise my children. There is no way I can earn the money needed to support my children without the help of my very successful spouse

Children need Security & Stability! Not to be oassed back & forth and never have a sence of where their home is and where they belong! Dont punish the children for their parents mistakes!

This bill is retroactive and unconstitutional for the alimony portion. Also the 50/50 is not good for children. If there had been a primary care giver and all the sudden they go to 50/50 it is very unstable for the children.Children need structure and stability.

Please veto the custody bill for the sake of Florida's children who are caught up in divorce battles. No situations are the same or equal. A 50 to 50 fits all solution could be disastrous for millions of children. Being constantly switched back and forth is not a healthy nor stable life for a child. I am a special education teacher with a Masters Degree and 30 years of experience working with children with special needs.

This legislation needs longer consideration and tweaking of fine points if not outright removal. Good and attentive fathers who care for their children deserve to be part of the lives of their children; however, the fitness of parents and needs of the child should be considered FIRST.

The best interest of the child must come first, not financial considerations!

This will set back women and children. You have above average child poverty as it is, and as a mother of a young child, I know that it is incredibly difficult to work outside the home in addition to doing the work of raising a good person.

Divorce and time sharing are not black or white. Each case is different, and should be treated as such.
