At Oakland Technical High School, myself and many other students often go to the restrooms and they are locked or there are not enough supplies like toilet paper or soap, which is unsanitary. This is unacceptable, especially during a pandemic when soap and hand sanitizer are necessary for us to stay safe and healthy. The school is supposed to provide these necessities but more often than not, there is not enough toilet paper, paper towels, feminine hygiene products, soap, or other supplies. Because of this, some students avoid using the restrooms at all. If we get enough signatures on this petition, we will present it to the school administrators to get them to enforce cleaning protocols and site procedures to keep our restrooms well-maintained and usable for the students of Tech.
