My Promise to Mum !!!!

Last year I had to live through and watch my beautiful mother pass away. She was diagnosed with a L4 glioblastoma in February and left us in December.   If this wasn't hard enough, what we had to go through to try and get some support from the Government was nothing short of humiliating and heartbreaking.

Mum was lucky she had us to fly the flag and fight the many battles we had to go through, what about all those elderly people who don't have that luxury?

The process that is in place and lack of and humanity and bureaucratic red tape doesn't take into consideration the real and emergent distress these people and their families are going through whilst having to argue a non-humanistic numerically based funding system.

Admittedly until I was faced with this situation my head was in the sand. Our family’s aim is to raise the awareness of this lack of support of our loved ones in their time of need for all of those who don't have support and God forbid those who are yet to go through this.

Please assist us in getting a better system to help all Australian's getting improved access to health and aged care services.

I promised my mum I would do something about it, even if it takes me the rest of my life.
