Local ANNIE LOCKWOOD COURT residents have just been given 27 days notice of the proposed closure of the facility. For the majority of these residents that means relocating out of Whyalla to anywhere in the state that has available places for their care. This can send their world & the worlds of their family members into turmoil & devastation. It has begun already. Even those that have been recognised as palliative are being advised there isn't a local bed for them. We want & need this facility to remain open for all its current AND future residents allowing them to spend they the rest of their lives with their families in the community they have been a part of for many years.
