Sam's Law requires teachers and bus drivers in NC to have epilepsy education and able to recognize a child having a seizure to give first aid.
North Carolina has an average of 18-28 children per class. There are 1 out of 26 children that have epilepsy. School nurses are not on the school premises every day. Teachers need to be informed first aid for epilepsy! School bus drivers have an average of 5 students with epilepsy riding their bus. School bus drivers also need to be taught epilepsy first aid!
