Stop the BBC calling EU citizens 'migrants'

European Union citizens have the right to travel to, and to live and work in the UK.  The BBC has begun referring to EU citizens as migrants, a politically loaded term in the current climate that obscures the rights of residency enjoyed by EU citizens and helps to foster discriminatory attitudes.

My European wife and European friends have all experienced hate and discrimination since the Brexit referendum. The BBC's use of language just isn't helping. BBC, You know the power of words - do the right thing.

The BBC must stop referring to EU citizens as migrants and offer an accurate description of their status as citizens of the European Union.
