The community of Boyd Elementary School in Rialto is petitioning to have Mr. Allen Torres reinstated as the head custodian effective immediately. The students, staff, and community have benefited from his dedication and hard work over his arrival over 5 years ago. He has worked with many students and the community to help foster and create a safe environment for everyone. As stated, he has worked at Boyd for over 5 years and has served as a mentor to students and is a support for everyone. He has built positive relationships and trust with students and staff. He is a key member of the Boyd community and needs to return to the campus. He was moved involuntarily and was not allowed to have a say in anything. Rialto USD representative Dianne Romo stated to various parents and community members that Mr. Allen Torres could remain at Boyd Elementary and that his move was not necessary. However, the move was made anyway. We are also petitioning to have RUSD provide students and fa
milies in the DLI for a daily 3 hour instructional aide grades K through 5. They have failed to provide aides period. We would like for aides to be hired to support all classrooms and all students daily. This would entail RUSD hiring people effective immediately and not depend on university students to fill these positions. They need to hire various part time positions or a few full time positions. We also are demanding that the school district stop collapsing classrooms and keep classroom sizes small as it is best for students and teachers. RUSD is placing up to 32 students in the classroom K-5. This all needs to stop immediately. RUSD has refused to take accountability and action to solve and resolve any of the problems mentioned above.
