Why this petition matters

Started by Olivia Williams

Rhode Island veterinary board allowed veterinarian Janine Oliver that was under investigation in North Carolina for multiple cases of animal abuse/neglect and treatment of humans with controlled substances and anesthesia to receive veterinary license. They were made aware of the situation in North Carolina before they approved her, as part of the application process they require a letter of good standing in which they did not receive for her from North Carolina. Even with multiple complaints turned in by pet owners and staff in Rhode Island they still continue to let her practice veterinary medicine. Since then there has been multiple deaths of pets in Rhode Island from the hands of veterinary Janine Oliver due to the negligence of the veterinary board. If the board would have listened and looked at the proof that the North Carolina vet board and staff members from North Carolina sent them these animals lives would not have been in danger. They were informed that she had a long history and at one point was deemed a danger to society and her patients through a Florida medical board that someone chose to approve her anyway and now they need to be reprimanded.
