Rhode Island General Assembly & Committees: Protect our animals. Please pass legislation for Housing & Habitat in 2013!

If the picture above bothers you, please make sure you sign this petition. This picture is real. It was taken in a Rhode Island house in February, 2013. There are others like it. A dog had been forced to live in a bathroom. The dog existed on moldy food, filthy water, and lived in his own waste and urine. He chewed the door nearly in half trying to escape.
The city said they could NOT prosecute the owners because no laws had been broken.... We can only hope the dog is safe at this point. His fate, and so many others can be changed if we come together and say 'enough is enough, it's time to do the right thing for our animals'
Rhode Island lacks even basic housing and environmental/sanitation laws for our four legged residents. Right now, animals are living in horrific conditions, overlooked, and desperate for help. Bills have been introduced in both the House and Senate in 2013 that will mandate basic requirements that all living creatures are entitled to. This will provide them with shelter, clean water and food, protection from the elements, and the respect and love they deserve. It should not be a privilege to have basic needs met. All of our Ocean State animal residents need your vote to be their voice, and secure their safety. Be the voice of the most vulnerable and defenseless members of our society. These laws must pass in 2013. We're counting on you to act with compassion. ALL RHODE ISLAND RESIDENTS, PLEASE SIGN & SHARE this urgent and necessary petition. Together as a group we can help end the mistreatment of all our animals in Rhode Island. Thank you!
I'm needing a minimum of 1,000 signatures. I bet 2,500 is easily possible! Thanks :)
