Reynolds School District: Allow my son w/ Autism the right to have supplements administered at school
My son is 9 years old and has high functioning Autism. He has some severe behavioral problems. I have done everything known to his Doctors to assist him. After visiting his Naturopath, we did neurotranmitter testing and realize his levels were all over the charts. I am trying to keep my child from being labeled a "bad kid". He just wants so badly to stay in a general education classroom and to make friends. After several months of administering the supplement at school, the school decided they would no longer administer the lunch time dose. This decision was made despite the Doctor's letter and prescription. Their reasoning is that it is a dietary supplement, yet he has a sensory disorder and the ability to obtain the support through food is impossible.
All I want is for my son to be able to take the supplements that allow him to function better at school.
