At the present, the current policies as stated in the Student Life Handbook say that guests are not allowed to attend any 2022 Siena Fest activities. However, I am proposing that Student Life reconsider this policy so that the senior class can have one last traditional Siena Fest before graduating. For the current seniors, this will be our last Siena Fest and we deserve to make it one to remember after all the stressors and hardships we've had to deal with over the past two years.

For many of us, the only "normal" Siena Fest we have to look back on happened during our freshman year. The last two Siena Fests were riddled with restrictions and changes due to the prevalence of the COVID-19 pandemic and the uncertainty surrounding the transmission of the virus. 

Given that almost the entire on-campus population is fully vaccinated and boosted now, I am asking that the school administration consider an amendment to this policy so that senior students are permitted to invite one vaccinated guest to attend the weekend events during Siena Fest. I feel that this suggestion is a reasonable request given the current campus climate surrounding Covid restrictions and mandates. For example, masks are optional for vaccinated students, guests are permitted on campus until 9:00 PM, capacity limits have been increased inside dorms and townhouses in comparison to last year, surveillance testing and contact tracing do not occur as frequently, and so on.
