Revise the Dress Code

Revise the Dress Code
Milton High schools dress code has yet to be altered. Some may see that as a good thing. However, the dress code is biased and slightly sexist. People can’t wear certain clothing due to it distracting students. The will problem is that the students are getting distracted over shoulders, over a stomach, they’re getting distracted over someone’s skin. Yes the dress code should still be in place, yet, it should be altered. A group of students should sit with administration to talk about the dress code, talk about why it should be changed, and what should be changed. We live in Florida and yet females can barely find shorts to meet the dress code so they’re stuck sweating in pants, boys can’t wear tank tops so they’re stuck in t-shirts and hoodies. We can’t wear ripped jeans or crop tops. In this day in age it is hard to find anything that meets our dress code, anything that is comfortable. I believe we should focus more on people who are being distracted and ask why you’re sending students home who came to school wearing something they’re comfortable in. Is the dress code worth sending students home, pulling them out of class, or sending them to ISS. By signing this petition you are agreeing that the dress code should be reevaluated, not completely disregarded.
