Sabarmati Riverfront: An ecologically damaging piece in place

The Sabarmati riverfront is an ecologically damaging piece of infrastructure which has become a breeding ground for mosquitoes in the region. It is an ecologically degrading structure as the water is stagnant and the waste that enters it from industrial areas is humungous. The seepage from the Pirana dumping site adds to the problem. It is a sincere request to the Government that this project be dismantled or at least reviewed and that corrective steps be taken.

The piece of infrastructure has cost dearly to many people in and around the city as well as those living in the outskirts, for example, the villagers and farmers.

It is a sincere request to the concerned authorities to have a relook at the ways and means that beautification projects are authorized and approved.
