Alutha Pasile accused of Femicide of his girlfriend, dimembering his body and defeating ends of justice has been sentenced to 25 yrs imprisonment.

As citizens in this country and organizations that fight for women and children's rights do not welcome this sentencing.

Soon after his action, another man Flavio Hlabangwane did a similar action against his wife and another man has done a similar action against a woman in Matatiel.

The justice systems was supposed to have set an example of Flavio if we are to win a fight against the rising number of Femicides in this country.

The senticing leaves nothing impressive considering the fact that he was sentenced during the 16 days of activism against GBVF. We feel like all the efforts made by all stake holders in the GBVF fight is undermined and downplayed by our Justice System. No wonder men will keep on killing women endlessly because they know they gonna serve at most half of the sentences issued to them.

Both Alutha Pasile and Flavio Hlabangwane are  very young, if given such little sentencing, they stand a chance to come back in their 30s and be involved with other women whom will be put in danger condidering little corrective rehabilitation happens in our SA prisons. Phaahla in Limpopo is a great example in this case. There are many examples that prove that as well.

Are we ever gonna win a fight against Femicide if perpertrators are given such little time to serve? Our president Cyril Ramaphosa promised hefty sentences for cases of GBVF, 25 yrs does not qualify as one. 

We plead with the NPA to relook and reopen Alutha Pasile's case to send a message to all men who use their toxic masculinity that it is not wise to do so.

We also demand that Flavio Hlabangwane's case be held at examplary merits to the whole country.

We are tired of dead bodies of women and children whose lives were cut short by cruel men.
