Castalia Convenience has held the NB Liquor Agency licence for Grand Manan Island for the past 12 years. They are a family owned business who have built their livelihood around their small business which includes a convenience store and NB Liquor Agency. With no warning or chance to counter, the small business lost their contract to a much larger business, The Grand Manan Independent, which operates the only grocery store and gas station on the island.
