LET IT BE THAT the country and nation of Israel memorialize the 18th day of May starting from the year of 2022 till the end of times as a National Holiday of Remembrance and Celebration for Liberty and Universal Human Rights.

WHEREAS Israel now stands as a sovereign nation, recognized by nearly all countries in the world, save a few;

WHEREAS the United Nations on the 29th day of the month of November in 1947, controversially voted to recognize Israel as a sovereign country and nation;

WHEREAS Haiti, on that date, November 29, 1947, through Mr. Emile St-Lot, Permanent Representative of Haiti at the United Nations and Mr. Antenor Firmin, President of Haiti, one of the founding members and writers of the United Nations’ Universal Human Rights, casted the crucial vote to establish Israel as a sovereign nation;

WHEREAS Israel, both the nation and the country, religiously acknowledges, honors, and values its roots, both glorious and woeful;

WHEREAS Haiti in honoring the constitution of 1805 gave safe passage to all persecuted people (for example, The Jewish People fleeing Nazism and finding safe haven in Haiti during the presidency of Elie Lescot after the 1938 Evian Conference) from anywhere in the world;

WHEREAS Haiti, the nation and the country since 1804, celebrates the 18th day of May as Haitian Flag Day in elaborate fashion everywhere in the world where Haitian people reside.
