The particular reason for this petition are Germany's weather forecast maps. But I am all too sure, the forecast maps in your country are coming across comparably grim - or more like dantesque.

In short: I would like the color scheme of weather forecast maps everywhere in the world to go back to normal again.

Weather forecast maps are supposed to give everyone a quick overview over how the weather will be in the near future in everyone's respective region.

As things are right now though, with everything above room temperature being of the color red, these maps lose their point. They are not informative anymore and this has to change.

Here's how I imagine the new color scheme for the maps (with each color segment having different shades):

• below 5°C (41°F): blue
• 5°C - 17°C (41°F - 62°F): green
• 17°C - 25°C (63°F - 77°F): yellow
• 26°C - 32°C (64°F - 90°F): orange
• 33°C - 38°C (91°F - 100°F): red
• above 38°C (100°F): purple

I am not an expert in these kind of things, but this is how I would interpret the different colors myself. If someone has a better idea for grouping the colors, please feel free to comment.

Lastly, I would like to point you to this 25 minute long episode of an old Western German scifi show called "Studio Telerop 2009" (English subtitles are provided). It gives you a good insight into the roots of what we are experiencing basically everywhere today in the Western hemisphere in politics and media.
