After kissing your hands and requesting your prayers, we, the undersigned, your children, the congregation of the Church of the Virgin Mary and St. John in Pleasanton and the Diocese of Northern California.
Subject: Concerning the retention of our Father Joseph Arsanious in the Church of the Virgin Mary and St. John in Pleasanton, California
Given Father Joseph’s strong and influential service to children, youth, counseling, newlyweds, and new converts. Given his fluent command of both English and Arabic, many of our children have returned to the embrace of the Church, practiced the sacrament of confession through him, and many foreigners have entered the faith through his service.
His service is supported by his studies in theology and counseling at the largest American universities, and he has applied them in his ministry in an Orthodox Christian manner.
Father Joseph has led an unprecedented revival in the church and the region, especially among the youth from all churches, fostering a spirit of love and cooperation among the youth as the foundation of service. These young people are the future of the church. Father Joseph, by virtue of his experience, studies, and work, knows well the challenges of the American and Coptic Egyptian communities and can guide the youth on the path of the love of Christ. Father Joseph has shown us the love of Christ through his dedicated service and love for our children and people.
Given what we have seen from him over the past years of love, humility, care, and attention for us and our children, we ask and beseech your Holiness to retain Father Joseph in his church, on his altar, and in his diocese to prevent any spiritual and psychological harm that might result from his transfer, especially for the children, youth, and the entire congregation of the church and region, as well as his family. There is complete consensus from all ages, groups, and all the priests and the
region on the love and faithfulness of Father Joseph’s service.
May God preserve your life as a wise shepherd and leader for the holy Church of God. We extend our heartfelt thanks and appreciation, requesting your Holiness’ blessing.

نظرا لخدمة ابونا جوزیف القویة و المؤثرة للأطفال والشباب و المشورة و حدیثى الزواج والعابرین الجدد. ونظرا لإیجاده اللغتین الإنجلیزیة والعربیة بطلاقة، كثیر من أولادنا رجعوا الى حضن الكنیسة ومارسوا سر التوبة والاعتراف من خلاله. وكثیر من الأجانب دخلوا الإیمان عن طریق خدمته دعم خدمتھ بدراستھ اللاھوت و المشوره فى أكبر الجامعات الأمریكیة وقام بتطبیقھا في الخدمة بطریقة مسیحیة ارثوذكسیة.
قام ابونا جوزیف بنھضة غیر مسبوقة فى الكنیسة والمنطقة وخصوصا بین الشباب من جمیع الكنائس وجعل روح المحبة والتعاون بین الشباب ھي أساس للخدمة. وھؤلاء الشباب ھم مستقبل الكنیسة. ابونا جوزیف بحكم خبرته ودراسته وعمله في الولایات المتحدة الأمریكیة فھو یعرف جیدا تحدیات المجتمع الأمریكى
والمصرى القبطى ویقدر أن یرشد الشباب لطریق حب المسیح. ابونا جوزیف أرانا حب المسیح من خلال خدمته المتفانیة ومحبته لاولادنا و لشعبنا.
ونظرا لما رأینا منه خلال السنوات الماضیة من حب و اتضاع و اھتمام ورعایة لنا و لاولادنا نرجوا ونتوسل الى قداستكم لإبقاء ابونا جوزیف فى كنیسته وعلى مذبحه وفي ابراشیته منعا لما ینتج عن نقله من ضرر روحى ونفسى للأطفال والشباب بالاخص وجمیع شعب الكنیسة والمنطقة وأفراد أسرته. وھناك إجماع بالكامل
من جمیع الأعمار والفئات وجمیع كھنة المنطقة على حب ابونا جوزیف وأمانة خدمته.
