Those diagnosed with diabetes already struggle managing it. A part of this struggle is, diabetics need to know how many carbs they are consuming. The vast majority of restaurants only list the amount of calories on their menu. It should be required to also list the amount of carbs on the menu as well to make the lives of people with diabetes easier. Without the carbs being listed on menus, diabetics can miscalculate the number of carbs and take the wrong amount of insulin which can lead to their blood sugar becoming too low or high and cause a seizure or coma. As a diabetic myself, I have struggled when going out to a resturaunt, trying to figure out how many carbs are in the food I am eating and it would make mine and thousands of others’ lives much easier if it was required to list the amount of carbs for each menu item.
