Why this petition matters

Started by Really IDK

Ai “art” has been an over growing feat in our current times, with many new possibilities. However, such a feat that disregards and devalues an artist’s hard work and creativity is a problem in itself. Just recently a person won an art competition with an ai generated “art”, we have people on Instagram Twitter and other social media websites, claiming to be “artists” when all they do is enter a writing prompt, gaining thousands of followers in just a months time frame or less, when there are other actual artists left in the shadows. We have them selling prints, nfts and what not of “art” that they claim to be created by them. Ai art as well all know and acknowledge is like commissioning someone, and then claiming that commissioned art to be your own, but in this case it’s not even with a price it’s free. I want all artists to unite and to stop this absurdity, as someone who spent years to hone their art skills, just to see lpeople on the internet not willing to put hard work themselves, use an AI that itself uses images off of other art - claim it as their own and so casually disrespect the title “artist”. The word “art” itself means; the expression or application of “HUMAN CREATIVE SKILL” and imagination.
The restrictions that we are aiming for;

1) Ai generated art should remain on their own platforms/websites, so people cannot pose as “artists” on other social media platforms, taking away the hard earned attention from actual artists.

2)Ai generated art should not be profitable, as a profit through neural networks while claiming it to be your “art” is not ethical, as it lacks one zone effort and input. People wouldn’t need to commission actual artists, and instead approach these “Ai artists” that reach unfathomable creative feats without actually putting a single effort.

3)The word “artist” is thrown around too casually in this field, devaluing actual artists, so instead give these Ai generating creators a separate title, and a sub category, while keeping in them mind that the images are NOT their own creation, but rather a mix/swindle of images/actual art that an AI created.
