Restore the Puerto Rico Medallions On the Avenue of the Americas!

Although Puerto Rico has been represented by medallions on New York’s Avenue of the America’s since 1965, and although there are news reports and photographic evidence to prove it, Puerto Rico was excluded from the list of 35 new medallions announced by Transportation Commissioner Ydanis Rodriguez in an Oct.13 press conference. He has given no explanation for this blatantly discriminatory behaviour.

The first Puerto Rico medallions were installed by former New York Mayor Robert Wagner in 1965. They were reinstalled by former Mayor Ed Koch in 1984. It would be a huge stain on the Eric Adams administration if Puerto Rico is not among the new medallions that will be installed in 2023.W

With this petition, we demand that Mayor Adams personally take control of this situation immediately. He should no longer allow his transportation commissioner to exclude the largest Hispanic group in the city!   Read the details below:
