Restore the Historic Tree Canopy to Prince George Street

Restore the Historic Tree Canopy to Prince George Street
Why this petition matters
RESTORE THE PRINCE GEORGE STREET TREE CANOPY -
Our goal is restoring the native tree canopy on PG Street from College Ave. to Randall St.
Tree desert:
Restoring the tree canopy will enhance the view scape while realizing storm water remediation. For Owners and Renters of Properties on Prince George Street Only Please.
- Presently the most conservative option includes planting ten willow oaks using silva cell technology. To see living proof of trees flourishing in the silva cell tree wells go see the trees fronting the Star Bucks on Main Street.
- City Arborist Brian Adams plan, to name a few, is to avoid trippy bricks from shallow roots. He wantss to nurture the living tree canopy. Siting using issues like size, growth rate, resilience, proximity to homes or overhead wires or egress are all part of his calculation.
- The investment will cost between ten thousand and sixty thousand dollars to do correctly for a long term gain.
- Ten tree wells are initially suggested - one for 239 PG, three for 38 and 44 Maryland avenue on their PG street side, one near 217 PG, and four from 182 PG and ending prior to 192 PG and one at 167 PG.

Ever wonder what Prince George Street's share of property tax payments is to the city? If we do not get funding, the ancient patina of Prince George Street will devolve to the decay state.
And if we do not get assistance from the stakeholders above, good luck on ever every getting rid of all the ugly abandoned & strangely coiled Verizon wires. This is one proactive opportunity to grab the bull by the horns for demonstrable improvement to our ancient quirky street.
