Revive the broken School System

Revive the broken School System

The district expects us, students to keep safe and to get ready for the very cold weather tomorrow but the school district does not realize about the children who don’t have the resources and luxury of having a jacket, hat, sweater, or gloves to keep them warm. What about those who don’t have the luxury of having a car. They need to walk to school in the morning to get a limited education that Lynn, Massachusetts provides us. In a city that’s founded with millions of dollars, we still don’t have good lunch. You are feeding us lunch from before quarantine. You constantly feed us food with no true nutrients or good taste, but yet you expect us to not have a headache for not eating because “you had lunch.” Sometimes the lunch that the school provides some kid’s, is the only food they get to eat. Not only do you feed us terribly looking food with a hint of horror for the taste, but you also don’t give any importance that we are not polar bears. You not only want us to survive this very cold day with terrible weather conditions, but also students from LVTI have to cross for every class they have which is going back and forth from each building 4 times. They have to take a 5 minute walk in 7 degree weather but yet you expect us to be healthy and ready to get our “learn on” the next day. There are kids who live more than 15 minutes away from school and have to walk in the morning and after school. Shame on you and this terrible school system for letting kids go through bad weather conditions when you have the choice of canceling school. Yes, school is important, but my health and the health of every other student in this district is far more important than missing school for one day.
